Blaque Gurl, Inc.

I’ve been helping my friend and coworker, Shequilla, create journals for her organization, Blaque Gurl, Inc. She wanted a fun, playful design with purples and pinks. We’re currently working on printed material to promote the launch of her new blog Blaque Gurl Talk.

Shequilla is also the president of Sisters Achieving Success, a mentor group offering semester-long courses to disadvantaged girls. Chris and I even taught a photography class to the group last year. I presented an introduction to the basics of photography, then Chris took portraits of each of the participants. We handed out disposable cameras so they could put into practice what they’d learned. It was one of the most rewarding experiences.
